One attorney, a fairly wide shelf. Patrick Nolan writes about estate planning and small claims court, the American Revolution, a near-future where the law rewrites itself overnight, and at least one engineering problem he decided to give away.

About the author
Patrick Nolan

Patrick Nolan, Esq.

Patrick Nolan is an estate planning attorney and the founder of Nolan Law Firm in Kirksville, Missouri. He served as an armor crewman with the 3rd Armored Cavalry Regiment, worked as an award-winning newspaper reporter, and now runs a practice built around flat-fee planning instead of the billable hour.

His focus is preventative law: the work you do before the problem shows up. The approach pulls from all of it; military discipline, a reporter’s plain language, and a working skepticism of the overcomplicated solutions lawyers love and clients can’t use. He also builds most of the firm’s own software and document systems, which keeps the practice fast, private, and inexpensive to run.

He publishes ongoing legal education through PatTalksLaw on YouTube and at nemolegal.com.
